Where thoughts become things

Where thoughts become things

I have spent much of my working life around ideas before they became things: strategies, plans, briefs, presentations, systems, products, and arguments. Often the job was to explain what I wanted, review what came back, and try to move it closer to what I had in mind. Perhaps that is familiar to some of you reading this.

AI changed that relationship. It did not make the work effortless. But it removes the middleman between a thought and a finished product.

Putting the pieces together

Putting the pieces together

My path has never been especially linear. Engineering led me to the study of information systems, which moved my attention from machines alone to people, organisations, and how things actually work. Economics later led me towards markets and policy, and consulting took me across industries. Some of that was deliberate; some of it was not. Over time, seeing different kinds of problems from different angles gave me a better sense of how things fit together.

This site began as a way to keep track of what I was learning by doing. It is not meant to be comprehensive. It is a working library of my own work, alongside resources from people whose thinking, writing, and explanations have helped me understand AI more thoroughly. This library is for people who do not necessarily work directly in AI, but are curious enough to take it seriously.

below4K

below4K

If you are wondering about the name below4k, it comes from a Salkantay hike to Machu Picchu with my cousin and friends almost fifteen years ago. Above 4,000 metres, with severe rhinosinusitis and no real time to acclimatise, I struggled badly. Every step took effort and discipline. A few days later, after we reached Machu Picchu and climbed Huayna Picchu below that altitude, I remember running up the steep steps with my strength back. My cousin called after me, “You are Superman below 4,000!”

The line stayed with me because, over the years, it came to mean something more. It became a reminder to keep your head down and put one foot in front of the other when things are hard. If you hold on long enough, the moment may come when effort meets opportunity. And when it does, you give it everything you have.
